Nashville Flooding

Nashville Flood of 2010On Saturday May 1st, 2010, disaster struck Middle Tennessee in the form of extreme flooding. Up to 17 inches of rain fell within 48 hours and created a rise in natural waters, such as the Cumberland river, up to 10 feet.Ā  Damages have been estimated at costs exceeding $1 billion. The people of Nashville had been devastated along with many businesses.

The music city had begun to sing the blues. But glimmers of hope changed that tune with massive recovery efforts taking place. A local television station, WSMV, held a telethon hosted by Vince Gill, generated $1.7 million, with a large portion of that coming from Country Music star Taylor Swift who donated $500,000. Other stars were featured offering pleas for donations for the Red Cross.

I-MAG Video understands the severity of this situation, and wanted to inform our clients that we have thankfully survived this disaster. We look toward the future with optimism and hope and know this great city will overcome this adversity in time.
