I-MAG and BARCO Take Sugar Ray on a Trip across America

I-MAG Video on tour with SugarRaySugar Ray fans across the country could watch the group perform live from Atlanta in 43 theaters

. I-MAG Video has selected BARCO to provide high-performance projection solutions for the live broadcast of the Sugar Ray concert from Atlanta into 43 theaters across the nation.

The band performed last night at 8pm EST at the Tabernacle in Atlanta with opening act Uncle Kracker. Cinema Presents, a private company backed by several investors, including entertainer Pat Boone, contracted I-MAG Video to install digital projectors and other necessary equipment for the satellite distribution of the concert in theaters covering 21 states.

I-MAG installed BARCO SLM G5 and 6000 Series projectors into 37 of the 43 theaters. Cinema Presents claims the Sugar Ray concert was the largest-ever live entertainment broadcast. Fans saw the concert at a six-second delay on the theater’s screen. The show included exclusive behind-the-scenes interviews and bonus event coverage.
“We are extremely excited to be a part of this innovative concert event,” said Jerry Dixon, Barco National Sales Manager. “The capabilities and clear images of the BARCO projectors allowed Sugar Ray fans to feel as if they were actually at the Tabernacle in Atlanta during this live telecast.”

I-MAG Video specializes in the staging of large screen video for concert tours and conferences. Cutting edge video display products, a focus on excellence and years of experience, have made I-MAG Video leaders in the staging market.

“This was an incredible event that allowed thousands of Sugar Ray fans to watch a concert that many of them would never be able to see,” said Steve Daniels, President I-MAG Video. “We were broadcasting the show in some major markets such as Orlando and Houston, but also to cities such as Woodridge, IL and Moosic, PA that are not necessarily going to host a high-profile band tour. The BARCO projectors gave the fans in the theaters clear, concise, high-resolution images and allowed them to truly experience the Sugar Ray concert as if they were there in person.”
